DNA Hearing Postponed Due to Lab Issues
On Tuesday a defense attorney representing sexual assault suspect Randall Jordan convinced a judge to order DNA evidence from his trial be reviewed by an independent lab. The DNA evidence in the case was handled by the same woman who recently complained about the working conditions and practices at the lab.

Fallout in DNA lab investigation delays criminal case
There's a delay in a 2008 aggravated sexual assault case, after a criminal defense attorney persuaded the judge to allow an outside DNA expert to review the Austin Police Department's DNA lab processes. APD said its own review of the lab found no flaws in DNA lab work.

Judge postpones sexual assault trial in wake of DNA scandal
Judge Bob Perkins postponed the trial involving Randall Scott Jordan Tuesday morning due to pending allegations against the Austin Police Departments DNA lab. Jordan was scheduled for trial on July 19 for an aggravated sexual assault. He is accused of sexually assaulting, beating and kidnapping a woman in 2008. Cecily Hamilton handled the DNA evidence.
